Introduction
Ensuring environmental sustainability by reducing biodiversity loss or a significant reduction in the rate of loss due to proportion of land area covered by forest is my chosen topic. In my multi-genre project, I discuss logging on a local level and deforestation on a global level. It is important to decrease clear cutting and to have a sustainable forest as well as a natural reusable resource. Although deforestation is happening, logging still needs to happen due to the needs we have as humans. There are ways to have a sustainable forest through selective logging and replanting of trees. Selective logging is useful in order to control fires and invasive insects that destroy the local and global forests. It also allows for the use of timber and lumber that is needed in everyday life. Replanting of trees helps to continue this natural renewable resource for energy uses, building practices, reducing carbon footprints, and maintaining the natural beauty of the earth for now and future generations.
